Ragtime Rosemont reviews
Breathtaking & Moving, as always
One of those artists is he whose music simply penetrates you, particularly in concert. He is infinitely talented and equally as passionate when he plays. The solo show was great, almost haunting, very moving. The setlist was just perfect--a great mix of old and new, popular and obscure. He even broke out of his infamous shell a bit to joke around and offer commentary. I am an avid concert-goer and see several shows a month, and Ragtime is probably my favorite to see live. He went as far as going into detail about how he felt about the CD-version of You Are the Best Thing, how he was disappointed in it and how it came to be, and then played a haunting slow, bare-bones version of the song. All in all, he is one of those artists I will see every single time he comes to town. I went to 2 of the 3 shows this time around and wish I had gone to all 3!
